the Hartman will be hosting an artist's reception on april 16/15 at 6-9 pm to welcome Elaine Clarfield Gitalis and our new exhibition of her work titled "land lightly" opening april 4/15. Elaine will be there discussing her unique and interesting technique using encaustic paint (hot wax paint) as her medium. This form of painting dates back to the 1st century BC and uses hot wax and other ingredients for pigment and different characteristics.
